I find the Nyx v1 not the best Dreadbox offering for bass to be honest, not sure what it is, but it sounds thinner than the Erebus when I try to go for bass…could be the filter. ![]() To because you keep asking about the Nyx’s bass capabilities, see my comment above re Erebus vs Nyx for that. A lot of people will tell you they are limited or specialize in certain ways while I have honestly found the Dreadbox synths to be the most versatile of all that I have owned and even used. The Nyx is quite complex with all its routing capabilities and dual filter, and it is definitely NOT one big sweet spot, but once you get it, it’s a really amazing synth for atmospheres etc. I own both the Nyx v2 and the Erebus v3 and use them just about exclusively since I got them. Dreadbox's Erebus vs NYX I'm about to buy my first physical synths, and after investigating some synths under a 1000 dollars I've found that the dreadboxes really vibe with me. I think you can’t go wrong with either (v1/v2). I find those Dreadbox synths to be really amazing value for money, such great sound and well thought-out designs, they are really something. Me personally, I prefer the last gen sounds to each, Erebus and Nyx, which is why I didn’t upgrade them thus far.
